Do I have to go to England to become a Barrister?

For the Bar of England and Wales, yes — the vocational stage and Call are the Inn's, and the Inn is in London. The degree that gets you there does not require it. That is the whole point of doing the LLB here first: you spend the sterling only at the stage that genuinely has to be spent in sterling.

What happens if I fail a module?

You resit it at the next sitting. It costs you a sitting, not the degree — but it moves every date after it, which is why the planner on this site shows the whole chain rather than a single next step.

Can I work while I study?

Many of our students do, and it is the main reason someone takes fewer modules in a sitting. Tell the planner you want a lighter load and it will show you what that does to your year of Call, rather than pretending the two are unrelated.

Certificate of Higher Education in Common Law (UOL)

The way in for anyone London will not yet admit straight onto the LLB. Contract, Criminal, Public law and Legal system and method — the same four modules that open the degree.

LLB Honors (UOL)

The University of London LLB (Honours), taught here and examined at a centre in Dhaka on London's own papers — the qualifying academic stage for the Bar of England and Wales.

Pre-Barrister Training Course (Pre-BTC)

Preparation for aspiring Barristers ahead of the vocational stage in London — building the foundations a Bar training course and pupillage committee will expect to see.

Bar Transfer Test (BTT)

For qualified Advocates seeking transfer to the Bar of England and Wales — preparation for the Bar Transfer Test set by the regulator.

English Language Course

English language preparation for students who need to meet the University of London's language requirement, or who wish to strengthen their academic English before starting the LLB.

We write to the universities on your shortlist with your transcript and module outlines, and hand you the answer in writing — including the refusals. Every UK university decides for itself.

Established in 2017, Future Barristers Academy has been dedicated to providing quality legal education and professional training to aspiring lawyers and legal professionals. Since its inception, we have proudly produced a number of successful Barristers and legal professionals who are now building their careers in Bangladesh and beyond.

We offer the LLB (Hons) of the University of London International Programme, Pre-Barrister Training Course (Pre-BTC) for aspiring Barristers, Bar Transfer Test (BTT) for Advocates and English Language Courses.

With experienced faculty, comprehensive study materials, recorded lectures and a supportive learning environment, we are committed to helping our students achieve academic excellence and reach their professional goals.

Your options are chosen against the Bar's list
Three of the Bar's seven foundation subjects are optional in London's regulations. We pick yours from year one against the Bar's list, not against whichever paper looks easiest, and we put the reasoning in writing.

No deadline closes on a file sitting on our desk
Registration, exam entry and fee payment each have their own date and their own consequence. We work to the date before the date, and we tell you when something has been accepted rather than when it has been sent.

Written work marked against the examiners' own reports
London publishes what its examiners thought of last session's scripts. Most distance students never open them. Here every script comes back marked against them, with the reasoning on the page.

The tuition is quoted in writing before you register
In full, itemised, and it does not move afterwards. You will not find our tuition figure anywhere on this site, because a number on a web page is not a quotation and should never be treated as one.

Questions

The award is made by the University of London and the syllabus, examination papers and marking are London's. What changes is where you sit and who teaches you: you study here, in Lalmatia, and you are examined at a centre in Dhaka against the same paper as everyone else.
